Carrington Coleman Welcomes Justice Douglas S. Lang as Senior Counsel

DALLAS – Carrington Coleman is pleased to announce that former President of the Dallas Bar Association Justice Douglas Lang has joined the firm as Senior Counsel. Justice Lang served for more than 16 years on the Fifth District Court of Appeals and brings decades of experience in appellate advocacy, litigation strategy, judicial service, and legal leadership to the firm.

As an appellate judge, following a distinguished career in private practice, Justice Lang authored more than 2,100 appellate opinions and participated in the resolution of more than 6,100 civil and criminal appeals. He brings a unique perspective in advising clients and attorneys on all aspects of litigation.

In addition to serving as President of the Dallas Bar Association, Justice Lang’s leadership service includes serving as Chair of the Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct and President of the National Conference of Bar Presidents. Among innumerable awards, Justice Lang received the Morris Harrell Professionalism Award. He also serves as an adjunct professor at Southern Methodist University and is a member of the American Law Institute. He is also a frequent speaker at continuing education seminars. Beyond his judicial service and leadership within the profession, Justice Lang has written and spoken extensively on appellate law, legal ethics, professionalism, and civility. His articles have been published in respected law reviews, legal journals, and professional publications across the country.
