Diversity & Inclusion
Different Perspectives. Stronger Outcomes.
We believe better decisions are driven by broader perspectives. In the legal profession, that means fostering an environment where diverse experiences and viewpoints are valued, biases are challenged, and every qualified voice has the opportunity to be heard. That commitment shapes our culture, sharpens our judgment, and helps us deliver stronger outcomes for our clients.
At Carrington Coleman, diverse perspectives enhance the way we advise, solve problems, and anticipate challenges. They make us stronger litigators, dealmakers, and client partners. For more than 50 years, we have been intentional about expanding access to the legal profession and creating opportunities for talented individuals from all backgrounds to build meaningful careers at our firm.
Creating Access. Expanding Opportunities.
Building Relationships and Leadership Opportunities
We take a deliberate approach to professional development and relationship-building, ensuring all attorneys have meaningful opportunities to expand their networks, grow their practices, and serve clients. We actively support involvement in organizations that elevate historically underrepresented voices and create pathways to leadership.
Our lawyers don't just participate — we help shape and lead legal and civic organizations throughout Texas and beyond, including:
- Marisa O’Sullivan, Past President of Dallas Women Lawyer’s Association
- Whitney Kelch Green and Jennifer Ryback, Past Presidents of Dallas Association of Young Lawyers
- Debrán O’Neil, Past Co-Chair of Attorneys Serving the Community
- Kelly Hinson, Past Co-Chair of Attorneys Serving the Community
- Katie Anderson, Board of Directors and Past Co-Chair of the Equality Committee for Dallas Bar Association
- LaCrecia Perkins, Steering Committee for the TMCP and President of NEW Roundtable
Talent Acquisition and Recruiting
We take an intentional, forward-thinking approach to recruiting, seeking out talented candidates from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. In addition to traditional campus-based recruiting, we engage directly with affinity groups at several law schools to promote summer clerkship opportunities. We welcome the opportunity to connect with talented students, learn about their unique interests and experiences, and build meaningful relationships with the next generation of legal professionals.
SUPPORTING OUR PEOPLE
We believe an inclusive culture requires more than policies — it requires meaningful support. We provide resources that help our people thrive both professionally and personally, including dedicated nursing mothers’ rooms, access to confidential counseling and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services, and a firmwide wellness committee focused on mental health and overall well-being.
By investing in our people, we create an environment where individuals feel supported, valued, and able to perform at their highest level.
DEI COMMITTEE
Our Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee plays an active role in shaping firm culture and advancing key initiatives. With participation across partners, associates, and staff, the committee meets regularly to drive progress — both within the firm and in the broader legal community. Our goal is simple: to ensure every individual feels valued, supported, and empowered to contribute.
