- Bankruptcy
- Represents business debtors and creditors in chapter 11 bankruptcy, as well as litigants in a broad range of commercial disputes.
- Obtained a summary judgment in bankruptcy court dismissing $12 million in fraudulent transfer and unjust enrichment claims in a complex data center construction dispute.
- Obtained, at bench trial, discharge of nearly $1,000,000 in client’s alleged nondischargeable debts and attorney fees under 11 U.S.C. §§ 523(a)(6)).
- Defended an engineering consultant against more than $1,000,000 in preference and fraudulent transfer recovery claims, settling the matter for approximately 1% of the alleged liability.
- Confirmed a Chapter 11, Subchapter V plan that settled more than $150 million in contingent, unliquidated tort liabilities.
- Obtained an award for approximately $500,000 in damages for homebuyer in an arbitration involving DTPA claims for negligent mold and water damage remediation.
- Successfully represented at bench trial our client’s promissory estoppel claim for damages resulting from the attempted purchase of a home.
- Defended a charter school against more than $400,000 in contractor claims and reached a favorable settlement at mediation.
- Successfully defended multifamily housing management companies in Texas Workforce Commission investigations into wrongful evictions and housing discrimination complaints.
- Counsels business clients in various pre-litigation matters including regulatory compliance, employment disputes, contract review, development of asset protection schemes, and maximizing credit departments’ recovery of accounts receivable.
- Protected vulnerable homebuyers from complex real estate fraud schemes and prevented the wrongful foreclosure on families victimized by such predatory “rent-to-own” home sales contracts.
