Jason has a diverse commercial litigation and bankruptcy practice that provides significant experience in a wide range of matters, including commercial disputes, adversary proceedings (bankruptcy litigation), judgment collection, business divorces, and employment matters.
Jason’s litigation practice is primarily Texas based. His bankruptcy practice, however, takes him all over the country. In addition to representing creditors in high-profile bankruptcies, he also prosecutes and defends creditors in bankruptcy adversary proceedings (bankruptcy litigation).
With his primary entire book of business built from grassroots relationships that only strengthen over time, Jason is an advisor who engenders great confidence and trust in his clients. They know they can count on not only his legal acumen and business intelligence, but also his sense of fairness and passion for helping them solve their problems. If their issue falls outside of Jason’s areas of expertise, he’ll connect them with the right lawyer in the firm while continuing to oversee their case and ensure it proceeds smoothly.
Jason enjoys the rich and constantly changing nature of his matters and devising optimal strategies to address them. He also enjoys providing advice to limit risks for his clients, and he relishes the hard work and intellectual challenges involved in tackling particularly difficult, complex, and pressure-filled matters.

Outside of Work
Jason’s priority is spending time with his family. He enjoys playing golf, attending live sporting events, coaching his sons’ sports teams, reading books, listening to music, and going on road trips.

Representative Commercial Litigation Experience
- Successfully obtained judgment after a bench trial permitting a tenant to re-enter leased premises from which they had been wrongfully denied access.
- Successfully defended a trust client at bench trial where the Court entered a take nothing judgment in favor of the trust.
- Represented banks in lawsuits on promissory notes/guaranties, fed actions, fraud actions and deficiency actions.
- Protected companies’ claims in complex federal and state court receivership proceedings.
- Represented produce companies with PACA claims.
- Successfully collected monies for numerous clients on sworn accounts, contracts and/or judgments.
- Successfully settled hundreds of cases.
- Successfully defended an individual at bench trial where the court entered a take nothing judgment in favor of the individual.
- Successfully obtained writ of re-entry permitting commercial tenant to re-enter leased premises from which they had been wrongfully denied access.
- Successfully obtained a judgment after a bench trial involving a contract dispute.
- Successfully collected recovery on a 10 year old judgment.
Representative Bankruptcy Experience
- Represented debtors in Chapter 11 Bankruptcy proceedings, including a real estate and brokerage firm, hotels, a bowling alley, storage facilities and a mobile air conditioning company.
- Pursued fraudulent transfers and preferential claims on behalf of a Chapter 7 Trustee in adversary proceedings.
- Represented lenders in adversary proceedings and exemption proceedings.
- Defended preference claims and prosecuted administrative claims on behalf of a nationwide telecommunications company.
- Protected the interests of an energy company in bankruptcy proceedings (both Chapter 7 and Chapter 11).
Representative Appellate Experience
- Successfully defeated a petition for writ of mandamus before the Dallas Court of Appeals for a waste management company.
- Obtained affirmation from the Court of Appeals for a client who obtained summary judgment in the trial court disposing of all claims.
