My goal is always to find the best possible legal solutions for my clients' problems. I know that requires hard work and creativity. I’m committed to giving my clients high-quality legal services while we work to achieve the desired result.
On the debtor side, I’ll be helping financially distressed businesses reorganize in bankruptcy. On the creditor side, I’ll work to ensure our clients stay adequately protected through the bankruptcy process and receive the highest possible return. I’ll also be handling bankruptcy-related litigation. My clients will include both financially distressed businesses and secured creditors in the restructuring world. I was drawn to bankruptcy initially by my bankruptcy professor at Richmond Law School, Professor Epstein. He advertised the restructuring world as a creative and interesting practice.
Additionally, I plan to help our clients in intellectual-property litigation. I was drawn to intellectual property in law school for two primary reasons. First, I believe in the importance of protections for intellectual-property ownership. The protections encourage new and creative ideas. Without protections for intellectual-property ownership, our society would be less incentivized to bring new ideas to the market. Second, from a legal perspective, intellectual-property disputes are stimulating. Statutes and caselaw provide the legal standards a court must use when deciding whether one invention infringes on another, but there is a lot of room for creative lawyering in how we make the arguments.
Outside of Work
Ben enjoys spending time with his wife. They like to travel abroad (Italy has been a favorite of theirs). They also like to just kick back and watch a movie at the house. Ben built a pizza oven in the backyard this year, so they have also been getting lots of miles out of that. Additionally, they own two whippets, Halle and Dash, and enjoy taking them on adventures to parks and lakes around the city. His wife is a big foodie, so he is the beneficiary of trying all the best food in the city. His favorite sports are football and pickleball, and his primary hobbies are fishing, strength training, and video games.
