Significant Matters

  • Represents plaintiffs and defendants in a broad range of commercial disputes.
  • Obtained, at bench trial, discharge of nearly $1,000,000 in client’s alleged nondischargeable debts and attorney fees under 11 U.S.C. §§ 523(a)(6)).
  • Defended an engineering consultant against more than $1,000,000 in preference and fraudulent transfer recovery claims under 11 U.S.C. §§ 544, 547, and 548 and settled the matter very favorably for approximately 1% of the claims.
  • Confirmed a Chapter 11, Subchapter V plan that settled more than $150 million in contingent, unliquidated tort liabilities.
  • Obtained an award for approximately $500,000 in damages for homebuyers in an arbitration involving DTPA claims for negligent mold and water damage remediation.
  • In the 471st District Court, Collin County, successfully represented at bench trial our client’s promissory estoppel claim for damages resulting from the attempted purchase of a home.
  • Defended a charter school against more than $400,000 in contractor claims and reached a favorable settlement at mediation.
  • In his first two years of practice, recovered millions of dollars owed to subcontractors, general contractors, and materials suppliers with an aggressive, dynamic litigation toolkit.
  • Successfully defended multifamily housing management companies in Texas Workforce Commission investigations into wrongful evictions and housing discrimination complaints.
  • Counsels small business clients in various pre-litigation matters including regulatory compliance, employment disputes, contract review, development of asset protection schemes, and maximizing credit departments’ recovery of accounts receivable.
  • Protects vulnerable homebuyers from complex real estate fraud schemes and prevented the wrongful foreclosure on families victimized by such predatory “rent-to-own” home sales contracts.
