I represent policyholders because I believe in leveling the playing field against well-resourced insurers, and I bring that same tenacity to my commercial litigation practice representing individuals and businesses in high-stakes disputes. My goal is to help clients navigate complex coverage issues and civil litigation matters, maximize their recoveries, and feel confident they have someone fighting for what they are owed. What I find most meaningful is achieving results that protect my clients’ businesses and futures—whether securing coverage or winning at trial and arbitration. I am also committed to advancing diversity and leadership in the legal profession through organizations like The NEW Roundtable and the J.L. Turner Legal Association.

As counsel, Kristina focuses her practice on policyholder-side insurance coverage litigation and complex commercial disputes. Her insurance practice centers on representing corporate policyholders in coverage disputes, helping clients navigate complex policy language, maximizing recoveries, and holding insurers accountable for the coverage they promised. Her commercial litigation practice spans a wide range of industries, representing individuals and businesses in high-stakes civil disputes involving breach of contract, fraud, and business torts. Kristina’s experience across all stages of litigation—including mediation, trial, arbitration, and appeals—enables her to craft strategic, results-oriented approaches tailored to each client’s objectives.

Significant Matters

Trial Experience:

  • Asbestos Litigation (2018-Seattle): Served as lead associate in a seven-day jury trial representing a steel manufacturing company in a multimillion-dollar wrongful death suit brought by the family of a former employee alleging asbestos exposure. Played a central role in trial preparation and execution, including drafting pre-trial motions and briefing, developing direct examination outlines for critical medical and industrial hygiene expert witnesses, and creating compelling opening and closing statement presentations. Assisted lead counsel with real-time trial strategy and witness preparation throughout the proceedings. The trial concluded with a complete defense verdict in favor of the client.
  • Pro Bono Asylum Trial (2026-New Orleans): Served as lead counsel in an individual merit hearing before an immigration judge for a client fleeing persecution and seeking asylum in the United States. Led all aspects of case strategy and trial preparation, including drafting the comprehensive trial brief, coordinating team meetings, and preparing the client and expert witness for testimony. At the hearing, I conducted the direct examination of the client and guided supporting counsel in other portions of the proceeding.

Arbitration Experience:

  • Complex Commercial Arbitration (2024-Dallas): Served as lead associate in a high-stakes, seven-day arbitration representing a real estate fintech company in a complex commercial dispute involving claims of breach of contract, fraud, and tortious interference. Managed extensive pre-hearing preparation, including drafting dispositive motions, pre-hearing briefs, and direct examination outlines for critical fact and expert witnesses. Developed dynamic opening and closing statement presentations. During the arbitration, conducted the direct examination of the real estate law expert and cross-examined one of claimants’ key fact witnesses. The arbitration concluded with a complete victory for the client on all claims.
  • Real Estate Arbitration (2025-New York): Served as second chair in a high-profile, five-day arbitration involving a highly contentious rent-reset dispute affecting hundreds of families in a Manhattan housing co-op who faced the potential loss of their homes. Took a leading role in expert witness preparation and presentation, preparing and delivering the direct examinations of two critical expert witnesses on condominium valuations and commercial rent values. Assisted with cross-examination strategy and real-time arbitration support throughout the proceedings.
  • Insurance Recovery Arbitration (2025-New York): Key contributor to a complex, seven-day arbitration representing a corporate policyholder in a coverage dispute concerning the client’s historical toxic tort litigation docket involving significant indemnity and defense cost claims. Played a central role in pre-hearing preparation, including drafting comprehensive pre-hearing briefs, developing direct examination outlines for two critical witnesses, and creating persuasive opening and closing statement presentations. The arbitration resulted in a total victory for the client, with exceptional feedback from the client praising the team’s preparation, strategy, and hearing performance.
