Abbye West

I’ve always been the person people turn to for support and advice because they feel comfortable sharing thoughts and concerns with me. This ability to inspire trust serves as a big asset in my practice. As a family law practitioner, I have the opportunity to help people navigate what are often difficult and emotionally draining times. I understand and appreciate the gravity of the problems my clients are facing, and I strive to offer tailored solutions in each case that best suit the needs of my clients and their families.

Focusing on family law matters in Dallas and surrounding counties, Abbye West handles issues stemming from divorce, high-conflict child custody and support disputes, enforcements, modifications of prior orders, adoptions, premarital agreements, and postmarital agreements. She is particularly passionate about handling cases involving unique or sensitive issues, including those dealing with parental alienation, children with special needs, mental health concerns, addiction, and complex property division. Abbye finds it gratifying to find creative solutions that help resolve tricky and delicate problems.

Abbye makes strong human connections and engages naturally with people on a personal level. She cares deeply and sincerely about those she represents and guides them through complex family dynamics with sensitivity. Abbye truly enjoys making a significant, positive difference in the lives of her clients and their loved ones.

Always well-organized, levelheaded, and candid, Abbye advises clients to take a reasonable approach and strive for amicable solutions whenever possible. When courtroom strategies are necessary, however, she conducts in-depth legal analyses so she can advocate for their interests most effectively. Abbye and her team put a great deal of effort into crafting well-thought-out and often innovative arguments. She learns something from each matter and uses the accumulated knowledge to guide clients with stellar legal acumen, as well as compassion.

Abbye’s academic experience and her time spent studying abroad in the United Kingdom and Spain enhance her ability to relate to people from a broad spectrum of backgrounds and life circumstances. Naturally curious, adventurous, and open-minded, Abbye is always ready to take on a new challenge or novel legal issue.
