John Stevenson is a Dallas native and a JD/MBA graduate of Texas Tech University School of Law and The Rawls College of Business. He practices in the areas of real estate law, corporate law and commercial transactions.

John routinely represents developers, owners and other clients in the acquisition, financing, construction, and development of raw land and improved real property, mixed-use and multi-family projects, and various commercial lease transactions, including retail and office leases. John also represents banks and borrowers in real estate and asset-based loan transactions, including loan restructurings and defaults.

Additionally, John advises individuals, entities, and funds in general business matters, including contract drafting and entity formation, partnership issues, mergers & acquisitions, due diligence and private equity transactions. John also provides general counsel services to several local businesses and advises entrepreneurs and other clients regarding asset protection strategies.


Represented Dallas based land development and property management company in multiple acquisitions of raw land, including a $30,000,000 purchase of 250 acres of raw land in Dallas – Fort Worth area.

Represented major shopping mall owner in multiple shopping mall dispositions, subdivisions, and redevelopments across multiple states.

Represented real estate fund client in $21,000,000 multi-family apartment building acquisition and subsequent securities offerings to investors.

Represented Rockwall based company in $11,200,000 sale-leaseback transaction of 150,000 square ft. industrial building.

Represented Dallas based area private equity company in multiple (10+) powersport vehicle dealership asset and real estate acquisitions in the Dallas – Fort Worth area.

Represented East Texas based telecommunications company in $48,000,000 sale of membership interests.

Represented major national bank in multiple lending transactions, including term loans and credit facilities, real estate loans, construction loans, loan restructurings and defaults.

Represented Dallas area apartment complex owner and developer in obtaining purchase money loans and refinances for 9 separate apartment complexes in DFW Metroplex in amounts ranging from $2,000,000 to $5,000,000.

Represented private equity company borrower in obtaining a $15,000,000 mezzanine credit facility from middle market lender in connection with multiple real property acquisitions.
