Home » Attorneys » Kirkham, Evan A.

Evan Kirkham is a Dallas native and a graduate of SMU Dedman School of Law. His primary practice is securities and commercial litigation; working with Carrington Coleman’s team of experienced litigators to defend officers and directors from personal liability, guard against DTPA claims, and engage the Securities and Exchange Commission on the outer limits of their jurisdiction.

Evan is tremendously interested in Virtual Currencies and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and has invested considerable effort to remain apprised of technological and regulatory advances. He consistently reports on the SEC’s enforcement actions and oft-ambiguous guidance with respect to Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs).

Evan is currently advising clients in the Blockchain space and helped Carrington Coleman launch its “Virtual Tokens & Blockchain Technology” practice area. He contributes to an ever-growing network of Solidity developers, FinTech entrepreneurs, cryptofund managers, token issuers, blockchain academics, and virtual currency miners.

Of late, Evan has authored several industry-relevant articles (See his Speeches and Publications section).  His thesis is simple: Consensus algorithms are here to stay and will transform Business-to-Business and Business-to-Consumer transactions in ways currently unimaginable.
