Maria is an associate at Carrington Coleman. Her practice focuses on business litigation, employment litigation, and appeals. Maria’s representations include litigating state and federal lawsuits, as well as advising clients on employment law issues. She assists clients with the drafting of non-competition, confidentiality, and non-disclosure agreements, and helps with the development of internal policies and procedures relating to employee benefits and rules.

Prior to joining the firm, Maria served as a law clerk for the Honorable Marcia A. Crone of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas from 2016 to 2018. There, she managed Judge Crone’s civil docket and advised and assisted with the drafting of federal court opinions involving constitutional, property, employment, personal injury, bankruptcy, and criminal law issues. Maria also assisted with and oversaw eight trials, including a double-capital murder case.

Maria received her Juris Doctorate in 2016 from Baylor University, where she served as Senior Executive Editor for the Baylor Law Review. In law school, she participated in several moot court competitions and served as a Research Assistant to Professor Mike Rogers, helping him publish law review articles on sports law and alternative dispute resolution.

Maria is an Arlington native and is fluent in Spanish. During her free time, she is passionate about giving back to the Dallas community through her involvement in the DAYL’s Aid to the Homeless and Judiciary Committees.
