Charles C. Jordan

The people I represent trust me with their most sensitive issues. Emotions can run high when family dynamics complicate getting business done. That’s when I come in with a cool head, a clear understanding of the issues, and complete discretion to sort everything out. In addition to advising family office and private equity clients, I counsel clients who develop and invest in real estate.

With a passion for solving the “parade of problems” encountered by private companies, family offices, and other organizations, Charles Jordan tackles the wide range of matters that his clients need help with, in Texas and beyond. These include large real estate deals, private equity investments, commercial leasing, public-private partnerships, environmental enforcement, and complex capital stack issues in structuring pass-through entities.

Deeds and misdeeds; trusts and mistrust: It takes a special kind of lawyer to handle competing interests in property and money, especially when family members or business partners are involved. Charles thrives on the ongoing challenge of understanding family relationships and the spice that adds to client bonding.

Charles’ empathy for clients grappling with business and family issues ultimately bolsters their strong confidence in him. He brings a sensitivity to clients’ multi-dimensional needs and an ability to see things around the corner that they hadn’t known to watch for. At all times, Charles pays close attention to sensible staffing.

As a green law student, Charles was challenged to propose a full array of legal arguments to improve his first appellate argument. He says that exercise has come in handy. Throughout his long years of client problem-solving, he relishes discovering, debating, and evolving creative options. Clients have gotten used to turning over promising stones with Charles.

Charles handles everything from complex private equity structures to bet-the-farm real estate developments to international aviation financing. Yet, he says, it’s often the small things that matter most. He says you have to watch what people do and you have to listen to what they say. It takes experience, maturity, judgment, and careful observation to know what’s essential to each client.

Charles relishes simplifying matters for his clients, engendering trust with opposing counsel, and securing win-win resolutions.

One of my clients said he appreciated my ability to make molehills out of mountains.
